As a video editor it can be a struggle to find elegant titles that don’t overpower your work. We took a nuanced approach to Shadow Type so that it compliments a wider variety of needs. Here’s a tip: lower the background opacity of the title so your clip shines through and stays center-stage
Designed for FCPX
Shadow Type was designed from the ground up for FCPX. The inspector provides percission control over appearance and animation. It’s easy to reposition the title because important graphic elements are locked to your text as you drag it around the screen
Not just for Text
A special Drop Zone allows the title to be used with graphics and logos. Of course, you can tint a graphic just as easily as changing the color of your text.
Shadow Type comes with a special title for use with graphics and logos. Any part of your graphic that has transparency will cast Shadow Type’s distinctive shadow. For graphics with transparency you will want to be working with a PNG or PSD file.
You can use graphics of any size, but for best results prepare your artwork with a transparent background in an imaging app like Photoshop. Your Photoshop canvas should ideally have dimensions of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the standard dimensions for HD video. If you only want your logo to take up a certain part of the screen you can size it down and have the remainder of the canvas transparent.
